Subclass 189 Skilled Independent Visa
You can only nominate an occupation that is on the MLTSSL occupation list. If you find your nominated occupation no longer on the M
LTSSL occupation list, you cannot apply for this visa anymore.
Subclass 190 Skilled Nominated Visa
You can nominate an occupation that is on the lists of MLTSSL, STSOL or State Occupation. However, some occupations imposed with a restriction limits the applicant apply for Subclass 190, such as Project Builder, Chemical Engineer, Production Manager etc. 40 occupations have imposed with this limitation. Besides these, State governments have announced they will amend their skill nomination list to echo the changes, further announcement will be coming soon.
Subclass 489 Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa
Family sponsored stream
You can only nominate an occupation that is on the list of MLTSSL. If you find your nominated occupation no longer on the MLTSSL occupation list, you cannot apply for this visa anymore.
State nominated stream
You can nominate an occupation that is on the list of MLTSSL or STSOL or on the list of State Occupation. However, some occupations imposed with a restriction limits the applicant to apply for Subclass 489(State nominated stream), such as Project Builder, Chemical Engineer, etc. 16 occupations have imposed with this limitation.
Besides these, State governments have announced they will amend their skill nomination list to respond the changes, further announcement will be coming.
What will happen if you have lodged EOI for an occupation which has been removed from the new occupation lists. Likely, you will no longer receive the invitation to apply.
Subclass 485 Temporary Graduate visa
Graduate Work stream
You can only nominate an occupation that is on the list of MLTSSL. If you find your nominated occupation no longer on the MLTSSL occupation list, you cannot apply for this visa anymore.
Besides, due to the new changes require the applicant for SC457 and SC186 to have at least 2 year and 3 year full-time work experience respectively. Most student graduates will not be eligible for these two visas that mean they will not be able to gain Australian work experience to top up their points for general skill visa.[:hu]
